Who wants to grow up, anyway? It’s sort of funny how nature seems to have it all backwards sometimes. Kids want to be “all grown up” – and a lot of us adults just want the freedom to ‘act like kids’ again. Go figure. But when it comes to gathering friends and family together to celebrate milestones – if you’re a kid, or just wish you were – why not have some fun with the day?  So we’ve gathered a few of our favorite cake designs that can do double-duty, for kids – or adults who still have a bit of childlike wonder in their heart!

The great thing about animation is that the ‘classics’ flow so easily from generation to generation. So even if today you find yourself reading Dr. Seuss books, or Wonder Woman comics to your child . . . the odds are there was  a connection to these well-known characters somewhere in your past, too.

Scooby Doo, Willie Wonka, the famed Mario from your first Nintendo game. And we certainly can’t count out the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles – a mainstay of the 1980’s that even has a new movie coming out this year in 2014! They’ve also partnered up with various other superheroes found throughout our childhood history (Batman, anyone?)

Sometimes, you just want to toss off the mantle of  ‘adulthood’ and regress to a more carefree time of your life (we know just how you feel!). When the most exciting activity during the week was saving up for a new comic book, going to a Saturday matinee, or those of us lucky enough to make a visit to see our ‘heroes’ in real life at Disneyland.
