Flowers on a cake. Sounds sort of classic, doesn’t it? (or did I mean boring?) As cake designs go, we all know that for generations it was mostly an assortment of icing roses in shades tinted to match the event. That was then.

Today, the use of lifelike, handmade, artistic blooms are used to convey everything from the changing seasons to the quirky mood of a soon-to-be-united couple.  Inspiration can be found all throughout nature, and just like their real-life counterparts, they can appear in stunning sprays created from a single flora or colorful bunches of different garden blooms that cascade. When it comes to “cakes with flowers” these days, it’s a whole new story.
