Wedding Cakes With Bands of Color

There’s absolutely more than one way to think of wedding “bands” – on your finger, for your reception – or as a lovely accent for a fantastic wedding cake. “Bands” of satin ribbons or fondant, even crystals – are often used to create visions of loveliness that coordinate with your selected wedding colors – or just plain make a statement of beauty and elegance.
They can be the solo stars of a confection – or adorned with hand-piping, intricate scrollwork, clutches of blooms made of sugar or fresh flowers, scatterings of gems or pearls – they can play towards a selected cake-topper couple, or stand alone. As the following display makes all too clear:
Dress it up a notch with some grown-up, childlike sprinkles (this can is such a fun choice, we think!)
Or take it to an ethnic, traditional look, like the Purple Henna below. Just remember that these are true ‘wedding bands’ and will help you select and design the perfect cake features for that most important day of your life. Sometimes the simplest of elements make the most impressive displays.
