The popularity of these perennial favorites seems never to fade. Debuting in 1984, in an American comic book, published in Dover, New Hampshire, this fictional team of four teenageanthropomorphicturtles, named after fourRenaissanceartists, was trained by their anthropomorphic ratsenseiin the art ofninjutsu. From their home in the storm sewers ofNew York City, they battle petty criminals, evil overlords, mutated animals, andalien invaderswhile attempting to remain isolated from society. The comics are still published, and there is even talk of reviving the animated TV series. This work has, at its center, a reproduction of one of their most iconic photos. Leonardo, Donatello, Michaelangelo, and Raphael are all here, to with Jordan a very happy third birthday. He will, no doubt, be completely thrilled!
