The work is a “mash-up” of elements that can be found in Las Vegas. The three different tiers each pay homage to one or more of them. A brilliantly executed facsimile of the world famous “Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas” figures prominently on the top tier, framed by representations of the four suits in a regulation deck of cards. Pairs of dice are strewn all over the cake, alongside $100 denomination casino chips and golden slot tokens. A banner bearing the “I♥NY” logo takes center stage on the middle tier. Various other iconic figures remind everyone of the many other attractions Las Vegas has in store. The birthday greeting is announced on a large banner on the base tier, just so everyone’s on the same page! A guitar atop “Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas” is a nod to the Hard Rock Cafe and Hotel Casino in Las Vegas. Rob’s friends have been very busy putting together this eclectic request for a themed birthday cake. I even see a diamond ring on the very top of this cake – could it be that this will be more than a birthday for Rob??
