1635 – Fit for a King
This bounteous, albeit eclectic, tower of "flour power" has size, color, glitter, and artistry enough to satisfy the most demanding of clients; even a king. Each tier is tastefully edged with a strand of complementary beads or piping to "finish off" the individually decorated layer. The base later is ornamented with a "pineapple" motif, executed in shiny silver, duplicated meticulously around the bright blue side. The next tier up is a caramel color, accented by hand-drawn artwork in a deep crimson. The next level up is iced in a periwinkle blue, and decorated in contrasting sparkling green diamonds and tiny gold stars in an "embossed" textured application. The next tier is done up in brilliant red, and utilizes a "teardrop" pattern, executed in a technique which emulates "hammered gold" with trailing dots in blue. All this leads us to the top, or "crowning" tier, which emulates a golden diadem, indeed "Fit for a King." This "royal headgear" is laden with bands of gold, and studded with jewels, as befitting any monarch, and this centerpiece might even prompt the party guests to declare "Long live the King!"
