Shake It Up was an American sitcom that originally aired on Disney Channel in the United States from November 7, 2010 to November 10, 2013. Disney's original concept was to create a female buddy comedy series with a dance aspect. The show was targeted at a decidedly "pre-teen" demographic, and gained quite a following in the 8 - 11 age group, but the series did not attract a "critical mass" of fans, and the finale aired on November 10, 2013. However, as they say, "Old television series never die; they just go into syndication" and "Shake It Up!" is alive and well in our designers' creative imaginations. Here we have two round tiers, one in shocking pink with black abstract stripes; the other in deep blue with glitter galore. Strands of large shiny beads, in contrasting colors, ring the base of each tier. Fabulous pink stars on wires seem to explode from the cake's surface, adding a touch of "star" power. Atop this work, a cut-out of the two stars of the series forms a backdrop for the name and age of our birthday girl. The "Shake It Up" logo in meticulous detail, features prominently on this piece, and is sure to shake things up at this party!
