1574 – Las Vegas Corvette Association
The Chevrolet Corvette celebrated its 60th birthday in 2013, and is still going strong. The Corvette is currently manufactured in Bowling Green, Kentucky and is the official sports car of the Commonwealth of Kentucky. The Corvette is nothing short of a legend in its own time. Created by Harley Earl and introduced at the GM Motorama in 1953 as a concept show car, it soon took its place in history as an icon of American pop culture. This homage to the car, and its worshippers, is first rate. A simple oval track frames the logo owned by the "Las Vegas Corvette Association." Cleverly incorporated into the logo is the number "40", indicating the number years the club is celebrating here. A plethora a rhinestones surrounds the logo/number, while a blue hand-piped ruffle edges the base, and the top surface of the cake, adding a touch of color, and texture. A model Corvette rests on the grey-shaded track, ready to enter the race. Any member of this car club will be thrilled with this piece, no matter which anniversary is to be honored.
