1374 – Ladybug

This whimsical affair centers around that most charming of all beetles, the "Ladybug." Scientifically known as coccinellidae, they are also commonly referred to as ladybird beetles, but in America, most often called ladybugs. The Turkish name for the insect is uğur böceği, literally meaning "good luck bug", and children everywhere are taught that it's lucky for a ladybug to land on them. The particular one seems to be of the most friendly persuasion and even has two "babies" on her back. Her distinctive black spots accent her bright orange/red coloring, and her antenna are at full alert. Resting on a bed of greenery, and surrounded by tiny cheerful daisies, she is the epitome of good wishes for any birthday celebration.
