1357 – Sesame Street
Since its debut on Public Television on November 10, 1969, Sesame Street has been considered by many to be the "gold standard" of children's educational TV. Generations of children have learned to read and count and more recently, how to be tolerant and accepting of differences between people, from this popular series. All of this makes it more than a fitting theme for any child's birthday party. This particular model uses three topsy-turvy tiers, each decorated in its own color scheme and motif. A harlequinesque design in periwinkle blue and lavender, with pink and red accents graces the bottom tier. Blue on blue stripes dress up the middle tier, and the top tier is artfully festooned with pink, white, and red flowerets on a candy-pink base color. Strands of white beads in alternating large and small sizes ring the base of each tier and topping things off, a clutch of curlicue wire stems springs from the top of this whimsical affair. Quite charming, this is sure to be a favorite!
