1639 – Monster Truck

The "Monster Truck" phenomenon began in the late 1970s. The modern "Monster Truck" is more likely a "dune buggy", modified or purposely built with extremely large wheels and suspension. They are used for competition and popular sports entertainment including and alongside motocross races, mud bogging, tractor pulls and car-eating robots. A monster truck show sometimes involves the truck crushing smaller vehicles beneath its huge tires. As you might imagine, the fans involved in this type of entertainment are quite zealous and extreme, to say the least! This design has a spectacular example of a monster truck sitting atop wheels that are almost as large as the truck, obviously involved in a "mud bogging" event. The mud is creeping down the side of the blue-iced cake, and the base of the tier is ringed with a band of flames. All the elements are here to impress any youngster with a passion for "Monster Trucks", along with all his friends.
