The top tier shows the charming "Simba", accompanied by his true blue friends, Timon and Pimba, the friendly meerkat and warthog who found and saved Simba, after he ran away from home. They are surrounded by large jungle plants and the grub worms that Timon and Pumbaa like to snack on when they are not singing "Hakuna Matata" in order to lift Simba's spirits. With music by the legendary Elton John, "The Lion King" was a landmark achievement in animated story-telling by Disney studios, becoming an instant classic, around the world, for people young, old, and in-between. This work of art is destined to become a classic in its own rite.
