“Fair but Firm” is the first (and only) school for boxing referees, and this retirement celebration seems to be in honor of a graduate and long-time referee from that school.  In “Boxing Ring Knockout”, we have a perfectly executed representation of a boxing ring, complete with edge curtain, “ropes”, and two “contenders” being refereed during a match.  The detail here is remarkable, down to the reflections of the participants, including “Joe”, whose retirement is imminent, in the surface covering the floor of the ring, and the mannerisms of the boxer who is still standing, being cautioned by the referee.  For the retiring referee, or the casual fan of the sport who also has regard and respect for the official, this selection has no equal.
